Finally In Newburgh, NY.

Sunrise in a campground, Ottowa Ill.

Good morning Aaron

Morning briefing

Aaron's riding buddy

One of the Kent firefighters made the mistake of not securing one of his saddle bags
and when he got up to around 80 mph it flew open and a couple clothing items
came out and scattered the riders behind him. Travis was 15 or so bikes behind and retrieved the
clothes for him.
If you know firefighters at all, you know it didn't take much time before this sign
was attached to the back of his bike. Hilarious!

Cabin in Gettysburg

We made a gas stop in a small town and a police officer stopped to talk. Before long he
had another officer there and called the local firefighters who showed up to block an intersection
for us and escort us out of town!

Rick took some early morning pictures of some of the battlefields around Gettysburg.

The new memorial in Shanksville was not yet finished so we had to go to a temporary one.
If you click on the photo of the signto enlarge it, it highlights the crash site. The other photo is of the
memorial site being worked on for this weekends opening, the crash site is in the background. Media trucks are already setting up.

The station 21 guys, Travis loves the camera!

Travis. " Look mom, no hands".
Don't worry, he wasn't moving.

View from Ricks room in Newburgh.

Paul Teutul from Orange County Choppers riding the new 911 tribute bike.
Check out the guy walking in the background, looks just like Paul.

Ricky Walsh doing ceremonial stuff at OCC.

Ricky Walsh left, Paul Teutul right and Joe in the center. Joe is a firefighter in
Richland Washington. He's always hungry for some reason. Nice guy.

James Medema from Kent Fire is getting a thank you from Paul. James does amazing artwork
on bikes and helmets. He presented a beautifully painted helmet to Paul. James work is displayed on just about all of the Kent riders bikes or helmets, as well as Ricks helmet. Awesome work James.

Rick and the new tribute bike in the back shop of OCC.

This display of 343 done in American flags on the property of OCC and Hilton Garden Inn.
Once again, that is the number of firefighters who died 9/11/2001, in the WTC twin towers.
Sorry I missed a couple of days but we had some hectic riding and crazy down pours as we arrived in Gettysburg. Needless to say, I was cold, wet, hungry and tired.
When we arrived in Newburgh, after a flood caused detour, we had to register, unload, eat and attent a get together of all the IAFF-MG members from around the country and Canada. I had put 3295 miles on my bike since I left my home in University Place, Wa.
Tomorrow is a NY State Police escorted ride into the City for the ceremony at the FDNY Fallen Firefighter Memorial.  Will update when I can, later.
